18th Street gang

The 18th Street Gang is a Hispanic street gang, originally from downtown Los Angeles, which began in the 1960s and has since grown to be California's largest street gang with over 10,000 members.

Members of the gang frequently tattoo 18 (XVIII) on their bodies, sometimes all over their body. It has spread throughout the southwest US and parts of Mexico. It is reportedly involved in many forms of organised crime. The gang has been linked to 154 murders from 1985 to 1995 in Los Angeles alone. The main rival of 18th Street is "Florence13", another Hispanic gang in Los Angeles.
