2nd Polish Corps

"Drugi Korpus Wojska Polskiego", 1943-1947, a major tactical and operational unit of the Polish Armed Forces in the West, separate from the Polish Armed Forces in the East; under General Wladyslaw Anders' command.

In 1944 it numbered about 50,000 soldiers; major subordinate units: Polish 3rd Infantry Division, 5th Kresowa Infantry Division, 2nd Armored Brigade, Corps Artillery; during 1944-1945 the Corps fought on the Italian front; after the war the majority of soldiers remained in exile.
