Albany, Australia
Albany is a city of approximately 30 000 people in the south-west corner of Western Australia. It was founded three years before the state capital of Perth, in 1826, and was initially a colony for convicts arriving from the United Kingdom's criminal system. Until the construction of Fremantle Port in 1897, it was also home to the only deepwater port in WA. The city is nestled between three large hills, Mount Clarence, Mount Melville and Mount Adelaide, facing King George III Sound.Albany was the port chosen for the ANZAC fleet to gather prior to its departure for Europe in 1914; a memorial to this has been established on top of Mount Clarence.
The main industries of Albany consist of tourism, fishing and agriculture, although before the 1950s whaling was one of the major sources of income and employment for the population.
Since that time, Albany has become popular with retirees, with inhabitants enjoying the fresh air, clean beaches, and fine views over the Southern Ocean, while still proving a thriving regional centre.

Recently the local youth have become discouraged about the amount of walking tracks around the area, the local council responded to these comments by saying "these tracks are necassary for the older community". The youth of the town were incenssed by these comments and responded with derogatory comments such as that the town is turning into the largest retirment village in the southern hemisphere.
Local youths then attempted to burn sympathysers to the old people, such as the youth Damien Smith, who frequents this site.
