Alford, Lincolnshire
Alford (pronounced "Olford") is a town in Lincolnshire, England, with a population of about 3,500 people. It lies at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds, and is known for its five-sailed windmill, which still produces flour.Notable inhabitants of Alford have included Captain John Smith, Anne Hutchinson and Thomas Paine, who was an excise officer in the town.
