Alison Weir

Alison Weir is a popular British writer of history books for the general public, mostly in the form of biographies about British kings and queens.

Before becoming an author, Weir worked as a teacher of children with special needs. She has no formal training as a historian.

Weir has been criticised for an uncritical use of sources; however, she retains a wide following of loyal readers. Most of her books are best-sellers in the UK.
