Armageddon (movie)

Armageddon is a action adventure and science fiction movie that uses a large asteroid on a collision course with the Earth as its primary plot element. It was directed by Michael Bay and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, and featured Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler. The tagline of the film was: For Love. For Honor. For Mankind.

Legendary rock band Aerosmith (fronted by Liv's father Steve Tyler) contributed "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" to the soundtrack. The song became the first Number 1 hit of the band's lengthy career.

Hollywood films are not generally made for scientific accuracy. In particular, many of the science details in the film are wrong. So the film should not be taken as a real description of how to deal with an incoming asteroid, but as entertainment.
