B.J. Thomas

B.J. Thomas (born August 7, 1942) is a Texan-born country singer. After a bried period with the Triumphs, Thomas began a solo career with a hit cover of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" (Hank Williams) but was unable to achieve massive mainstream success until 1968's (1968 in music) "Hooked on a Feeling" and 1969's (1969 in music) "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" (Burt Bacharach & Hal David).

By the 1970s, Thomas had switched to Paramount Records and released "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song", his second pop hit. His string of hits conctinued, peaking in 1984 with "Two Car Garriage", "Whatever Happened to Old Fashioned Love" and "New Looks from an Old Lover" (see 1984 in music). In the 1990s, Thomas has continued to tour and record to a diminishing mainstream audience, though he has found new fans in contemporary Christian music.
