Billy Boyd

Billy Boyd (born 28 August 1968) is a Scottish actor who played Peregrin Took in the film adaptations of The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003) and Barrett Bonden in Peter Weir's film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) (starring Paul Bettany and Russell Crowe).

He and his sister Margaret were raised by their grandmother after they were orphaned in his early teen years.

He is a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he earned a diploma in Dramatic Arts.
