Buchanan v. Warley

Buchanan v. Warley 245 US 60 1917 is an important United States Supreme Court case dealing with segregation in residential areas.

The Case

Argued 10 and 11 April 1916.

Restored to Docket for Reargument, 17 April 1916. 

Reargued on 27 April 1917.

The Decision

On 5 November 1917 the Court announced its decision, and held that a Kentucky law could not require residential segregation.
