Cambridge Union

The Cambridge Union was founded in 1815 and is now one of the best known debating societies in the world. It regularly attracts some of the most influential and exciting speakers from across the globe. Recently these have included President Reagan, Jean-Marie Le Pen, Clint Eastwood, Gillian Anderson, Bruce Forsyth and Carole Caplin, among others. The current President of the Union, Edward Cumming, is "committed to the furtherance of free speech through intellectual and engaging debate of the subjects that matter".
