Christopher Bram

Christopher Bram was born in Buffalo, New York in 1952. He currently resides in New York. In May 2003 he received the Bill Whitehead Award for Lifetime Achievement. His writing shows a deep understanding of human nature, and of society's impact on individual lives – both gay and straight – during the past century. He has written 8 novels, co-edited two anthologies and had numerous articles and essays published. His novel "Father of Frankenstein" was made into a movie called "Gods and Monsters" starring Ian McKellen and Brendan Fraser. Bill Condon adapted the screenplay and directed. He won an Academy Award for his adaptation.
