Corporate nationalism

National capitalism or corporate nationalism is a hybrid system of politics and economics under which corporations work mainly towards the national good, instead of solely towards their own profits.

In such a system, corporations are permitted (and indeed expected) to aim for profits, but cannot do anything to make that profit if it will be detrimental to the national good. For example, moving the company to another country would not be permitted if it would put workers out of their jobs and raise the unemployment level of the nation, even if it would cut costs for the company.

National capitalism is in many ways a modern restatement of the goals of fascism, but without the centrally planned economy and strong state apparatus.
