Croix de Guerre

The Croix de Guerre ("War Cross") is a military medal. Both Belgium and France have medals of this name.

Belgium

The Belgian Croix de Guerre was established in 1915 to recognize acts of heroism by individuals. It was also awarded to units in World War II, and has been awarded to foreign units and individuals.

France

The French Croix de Guerre was established 8 April 1915 to commemorate individual mentions in dispatches. It was awarded to both units and individuals, and to foreigners.
