Dagbladet Information

Dagbladet Information is a Danish broadsheet newspaper published Monday to Saturday.

Originally published during the World War II by the Danish resistance movement. Information or Fædrelandet (En: The Father Country) was illegal during the war as it was not regulated by the German occupying power.

As of May 5, 1945 (Day of German retreat), Dagbladet Information was a reality and the newspaper itself was officially founded in August 1945.

Dagbladet Information is the youngest still-surviving newspaper in Denmark and is in fact still independent. With a daily circulation of 20,834 in the year 2000 it is among the smallest newspapers in Denmark. It has around 110,000 daily readers compared to the 500,000 of other Danish newspapers like Politiken and Jyllands-Posten.

The newspaper is very serious and consists of few graphics and is comparable to the French newspaper Le Monde. It is the most-read newspaper among long-educated Danes.

The cooperation also publishes books.
