Daud

Daud is a prophet in the Quran. In the Bible he is known as David.

Daud was a ninth generation of Yaqub. Daud is most famous for his defeat of Goliath (Jault in the Quran). Daud was still a young man when he used his sling to kill giant king Goliath. He was appointed prophet and king by God while Samuel was still alive.

The boundaries of his kingdom expanded during his rule, and he spread the religion of God to other territories. He laid the foundations of the Dome of the Rock. The Psalms were revealed to Daud by God. He lived long and ruled his people wisely and in accordance with the laws of Torah.
