Doggy position

The doggy position\ (also known in Latin as coitus more ferarum, "sex in the manner of a beast") is a popular sex position. In the doggy position,

the woman crouches on all fours, spreading her legs slightly
the man crouches over her, and penetrates her vagina with his penis from behind.

This position is similar to that used for mating by quadrupeds such as horses and dogs, hence the name.

Features of the doggy position:

penetration is quite deep

Disadvantages of the doggy position:

no eye contact
achieving alignment between penis and vagina takes practice

Some people feel this is very primitive and animalistic; because of this some people feel this position is demeaning, whilst others view these associations as a major advantage of the position.

Many people do not regard this position as demeaning in any way for either partner, and enjoy the position for its own merits.
