Edward William Spencer Cavendish, 10th Duke of Devonshire

Edward William Spencer Cavendish, 10th Duke of Devonshire, (1895 - 1950), also known as Earl of Burlington (1895-1908) and Marquess of Hartington (1908-1938), was Member of Parliament for West Derbyshire and a Minister in Winston Churchill's wartime cabinet. He was married to Lady Mary Cecil (b. 1895), the daughter of the 4th Marquess of Salisbury. They had two sons and two daughters. Their eldest son William (1917-1944), Marquess of Hartington, married Kathleen Kennedy (1920-1948) and would have inherited the title, but he was killed in action, and Andrew, the second son, inherited in his place.
