European Education Forum

The education system in Europe may become corporatized due to pressure from international treaties like GATS. Some people think that since education is a human right, it should not be subject to the free market, and that since corporations usually have the political structure of a dictatorship and the economic structure of communism (a centralised, planned economy), they (corporations) should not have the right to influence the budgets or decision-making in educational institutions such as schools and universities.

The first European Education Forum (EEF) for ordinary people to discuss these issues is planned for 18-20 September 2003 in Berlin, Germany.
