Eurovision Song Contest 1959

The Eurovision Song Contest 1959 was the forth Eurovision and was held on March 11, 1959 in France. With Jacqueline Joubert as the presenter, the contest was won by Teddy Scholten who represented the Netherlands, with her song "Een beetje".

In the press it was suggested that Italy and France gave so much points to the Netherlands as those two countries didn't want each other to win.

A new rule was created in this Eurovision. It was to ensure that no professional publishers or composers were allowed to be on the juries.

Interval Act

There was no interval act in 1959.
