Evin Prison

Evin Prison is a main prison in Iran, located in the north of Tehran and notorious for its political prisoners' wing, both before the 1979 revolution and after. It was built about 100 years ago.

Iranian-Canadian Zahra Kazemi was caught taking photographs of it on June 23, 2003 and was subsequently beaten to death during interrogations.
