FlightGear is a collaborative project that aims to create a sophisticated flight simulator framework licensed under the GNU General Public License. It runs on multiple platforms.The simulation engine in FlightGear is called SimGear. It is being used in academic and research environments, for the development and pursuit of other interesting flight simulation ideas and as an end-user application.
