Garibaldi (Hypsypops rubicundus) are a kind of fish native to the Pacific Ocean, ranging from Monterey Bay to Guadeloupe Island, Baja California. They are renowed for their brilliant orange color and grow in size to up to 14 inches in length. They are the official "marine fish" of the state of California and have a protected status in California coastal waters.
