Hardwood

The term hardwood designates wood from "deciduous" trees, by which is really meant wood from flowering plants or angiosperms. Hardwoods, when compared to softwoods, which come from "evergreens" or conifers, are in general of higher density and hardness. Hardwoods are usually put to work into appearance products such as furniture, flooring, etc. In some regions where softwood is scarce, such as Australia, hardwood may also be used for structural components of constructions.
