Henry Moore

Henry Spencer Moore (July 30, 1898 - August 31, 1986) was a sculptor.

Moore was born in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England. He became one of the most important sculptors to work with abstract art, he is known for his monumental bronze sculptures that suggest natural contours without being figurative. Many of his best works fall into one of two categories; mother-and-child figures, and reclining figures.

He met Barbara Hepworth at Leeds School of Art.

Hernry Moore died in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England. He was awarded the CH and the OM.
