Huesca (province)

Huesca is a province of northern Spain, in the northern part of the autonomous community of Aragon. It is bordered by the provinces of Lleida, Zaragoza, and Navarra, and by France.

Its area is 15,636 km². Its population is 208,963 (2003), and its population density is 13.36/km². It contains 202 municipalities.

Its capital is the city of Huesca, where about one-fifth of the population resides. Some notable towns in Huesca province are Sabiñánigo, Jaca, Benasque, Graus, Benabarre, Barbastro, Tamarite de Litera, Monzon, and Fraga. See the list of municipalities in Huesca.
