IDEO

IDEO is a Product Design company based in Palo Alto, California. It was founded by David Kelley, who is also a professor at Stanford University.

IDEO is active in nearly all fields of design. It has partnered with Scott Adams of Dilbert fame to produce the perfect cubicle desk and has also worked several times with the office furniture maker Steelcase to design concepts for the Office of the future. It has designed locomotives, cellular phones, consumer product packaging, and a myriad of other things for industrial clients. The only traditional design domain which it seems to have avoided is that of automobile body or componenet work. It did however once design a mobile motorized capsule desk with Steelcase called the IDEO Q mobile workstation concept.
