John Hunt Morgan

John Hunt Morgan was a Confederate General and cavalry officer who lad a daring raid, called Morgan's Raid, penetrating Union lines into Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio in June of 1862.

On July 19, 1862 at Buffington Island in Ohio, however Morgan's raid was mostly thwarted when a large group of his men were captured while trying to escape across the Ohio River. At Salineville, Ohio on July 26, 1863 Morgan and 360 of his volunteers were captured by Union forces. However on November 27, 1863 Morgan and several of his men escaped the Ohio state prison and returned safely to the South.
