John Madden (football)

John Madden (born April 10, 1936 in Austin, Minnesota) is an American football coach who won the Super Bowl with the Oakland Raiders in the 1976-1977 season.

He also is a famous TV football announcer and pitchman for Ace Hardware and Outback Steakhouse, as well as host of many National Football League video games. Madden has worked for three of the four American broadcast television networks that have or have had NFL broadcasts (CBS, the Fox Network, and more recently, ABC). In the autumn of 2002, Madden became co-host of ABC's Monday Night Football with longtime play-by-play announcer Al Michaels.

He has a 15 minute on-air chats with the anchor persons at San Francisco KCBS news radio 740 every weekday morning at 8:15am.

Madden is also noted for his fear of flying. He travels around the country in a luxurious customized bus, which he has dubbed the Maddencruiser.
