Joseph H. Ball

Joseph H. Ball (November 3, 1905-December 18, 1993) was an American politican. He served in the United States Senate as a Republican from Minnesota.

He was first appointed to fill the Senate seat of Ernest Lundeen who had died in office. Ball served in the Senate from October 14, 1940 to November 17, 1942. Arthur E. Nelson was elected in November of 1942 to finsh out the term to January 3, 1943. Ball however was elected to the Senate for the same seat in 1942. Ball served in the Senate from January 3, 1943 to January 3 1949. He lost his reelection bid in 1948 to Hubert H. Humphrey. Ball died in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
