Kansai Gaidai University

Kansai Gaidai University (関西外国語大学 Kansai Gaikokugo Daigaku) is located in Hirakata, Japan. The Japanese name literally means Kansai Foreign Language University, which explains the school's focus on language studies, including a popular Asian Studies program for foreign students.

KGU has two campuses. One is the Nakamiya Campus and the other is the Hotani Campus. There are about 25,000 students and it has been 58 years since it was built.

School fees

School fees cost about 12,220,000 yen for freshman and 970,000 yen for sophomore, junior, and senior.

Study abroad programs

KGU aggressively promotes studying abroad. KGU invited 19 teachers and students from U.S. universities. KGU has made a lot of effort in its study abroad system. At first, the university started with only 19 people. However now more than 2000 students are in the international program.

There are many kinds of study abroad systems in this university. This study abroad program connects more than 42 countries, areas, and about 250 universities which are in America, Europe, Africa, Australia and so on. KGU will expand the places where students can go study abroad in the future.

Placement Nowadays, Japanese society is in a depression. Companies are not employing recruits very much, so it is very difficult to get jobs. On background of global economic environment, many companies supply KGU students who have abundance experience of global community. Clubs At Nakamiya Campus, There are 25 kinds of sports clubs. American football, Archery, Karate, Ski, Kendo, Golf, Baseball, Tennis, Soccer, Judo, Kung fu, Water sports, Soft tennis, Table tennis, Japanese karate, Handball, Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Boxing, Rugby, Track and field, Cheerleadering, Aviation, and Outdoors club. There are also 36 kinds of cultural clubs. FBS(radio station), Brass band, Research of English, German, Spanish, and Chinese, Flower arrangement, Calligraphy, International Communication, Guide, Tea ceremony, Research of America, Personal computer, Movie, Newspaper, Photography club, The study of international affairs, Rakugo, Guitar, Translation, Go board, Shogi, Band, Choir, Dance, Folk song, Drama, Travel, Mandolin, Art, and Literature.
