Kevin Costner

Kevin Costner (born January 18, 1955) is an actor and director who has appeared in many of his own and other's productions. Born in Lynwood, California, his most popular success was in the epic Dances with Wolves which he directed and starred in.

Many of his latest movie efforts have enjoyed little success. Science-fiction epic Waterworld lost the most money of any movie up to its time. The Postman was another disappointment at the box office.

• Costner was cast in the feel-good hit The Big Chill. He was shot in several scenes which were planned as flashbacks, but they never made it to the final cut. He was the friend who committed suicide, the event which the plot of the movie revolves. All that is seen of him are his slashed wrists as the mortician dresses his corpse in the movie's opening scenes.
