Lwaxana Troi

She is the mother of Deanna Troi, and of Betazoid descent, a race noted for their telepathic abilities. She came to the Enterprise D on several occasions, all of them resulting in interesting situations. The most notable involve her search for a husband, fixing her sights at various times on a Ferengi, a dying man, and Captain Jean-Luc Picard.

Although a kind and light hearted woman, she was burdened by the death of her first daughter, Kestra.

Her full title is "Daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Riix, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed." She has a tendency to frequently remind people of this fact, especially in situations where she feels slighted.

Lwaxana is frequently accompanied by her ubiquitous companion, Mr. Homn.

Lwaxana Troi was played by Majel Barrett, wife of Gene Roddenberry, creator of Star Trek.
