Mambo

  • Mambo is a Haitian dance style and musical form. The word 'Mambo' is the name of a voodoo priestess in the language of the African slaves that were imported into the Caribbean.

There were two forms of Mambo dance: single and triple (sometimes called double Mambo); the latter one is thought to be an origin of Cha-cha-cha.


  • Mambo is a section of danzon musical form that features instrumental imrovisation.
