Michael Barrymore

Michael Barrymore, born 4 May 1952, is a British comedian famous for his variety shows.

Early History

Michael Barrymore was born in England. His father was an alcoholic and a gambler.

Television

He has presented television shows such as Strike It Lucky, Barrymore, and Kids Say The Funniest Things. His catchphrase is 'awwight!'.

Controversy

Michael Barrymore's home was search when a male drowneded in his pool. Many tabloid newspapers labelled Barrymore a murderer, and accused him of holding gay drug-fueled orgies in his home.

After months of police investigation. Barrymore was given a caution for the use of cannabis; no other charges were filed against anyone. The male, who was a heterosexual (as were most at the party), drowned by accident. Barrymore did not know the person who drowned, a fact which the media used against him saying: He didn't even know his name.

Michael Barrymore then moved to New Zealand.
