Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is a section of the city-state of Monaco known for its gambling, beaches, and sightings of famous people. Because of its association with gambling, it has given its name to the Monte Carlo method of numerical integration.

Monte Carlo has been host of the Monaco Grand Prix, world championship boxing bouts, fashion shows and other events.

Monte Carlo has for decades been visited by royalty as well as commoners and movie stars. The main character in the James Bond movies frequented the city's casinos. In 1873 Joseph Jaggers became the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo.

Monte Carlo is often called the capital of the country Monaco, but Monaco City is the official capital.
