Mount Logan

At 5,959 meters (19,486 feet), Mount Logan is Canada's highest mountain and the second-highest peak in North America. It is located in the Saint Elias range of Yukon, and was named after Sir William Edmond Logan, a Canadian geologist. See Peakware for photos of Mt. Logan.

Mt. Logan was first climbed in 1925 by A.H. MacCarthy, H.F. Lambart, A. CarpÈ, W.W. Foster, N. Read and A. Taylor.

Following the death of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, the Chrétien government considered renaming the mountain Mount Trudeau; however, this faced opposition from Yukoners and mountaineers, and the plan was dropped.
