Nothing So Strange

Nothing So Strange is an independent film that is about a fictional assassination of Microsoft chairman Bill Gates in 1999. The director of this film is Brian Flemming.

Note: Wikipedia contains "spoilers.

The film project was known as "Macarthur Park" before the name change and release in 2002. The name was changed as a film named Macarthur Park was taken to the Sundance Film Festival in 2000.

The controversy over the fictional assassination in the film is similar to that of the real-life assassination of United States President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas in 1963.

In the film, Bill Gates (Steve Sires) is shot dead by a sniper, first in the right shoulder, then the head, while giving a check for one million dollars to "Literacy For Life" as part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The assassination takes place at Macarthur Park in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, December 2, 1999.

The man who supposedly shot him, Alek Hidell, dies after police officers chasing him shot him in the head.

After the assassination, a group named Citizens for Truth, led by David James (David James) and Debra Meagher (Laurie Pike), aims to open files on the assassination investigation made by LAPD's Rampart division.
