Old Trafford

Old Trafford is an area of Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. It is mainly notable for the presence of two major sporting venues.

Old Trafford Football Ground

Old Trafford stadium is the home of Manchester United F.C, one of the most famous football clubs in the world. It has been their home for nearly a hundred years, since 1910.

Old Trafford currently has the largest ground capacity of any English football stadium, holding just over 68,000 spectators. It is, of course, all-seater, which all higher league British club grounds have had to be since the Taylor Report in the early 1990s. It is frequently used to host F.A. Cup semi-final matches (as long as Manchester United are not involved, of course), and is also occasionally used to host England international fixtures whilst Wembley Stadium is under reconstruction.

Old Trafford Cricket Ground

Old Trafford cricket ground has been the home of Lancashire County Cricket since 1856. International Test Matches have been played there since 1884.
