Philo Farnsworth

Philo Taylor Farnsworth (August 19 1906 - March 11 1971) was an American inventor of the vacuum tube television display.

Farnsworth appears as a character in Glen David Gold's novel Carter Beats the Devil (ISBN 0786886323).
