Ron Wood

Ron Wood is a British rock guitarist and a member of The Rolling Stones and the Jeff Beck Group. He began his career in the late 1960s as part of The Creation, then joined the Jeff Beck Group. They split up, however, after Beck-Ola (1969, 1969 in music). Wood and Rod Stewart joined The Small Faces, whick quickly became Faces, which released several influential albums before splitting up in 1975 (see 1975 in music). Throughout the 1970s, Rood released solo albums including a collaboration with Ronnie Lane, Mahoney's Last Stand (1976, 1976 in music). Following Mick Taylor's departure from the Rolling Stones in 1974, Wood replaced him on guitar in time to help with the recording of Black and Blue from 1976. Throughout the 80s, Wood played with the Rolling Stones, continued his solo career and painted, as well as working with artists like David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Aretha Franklin. In 1993 (see 1993 in music), he and Rod Sewart appeared on MTV's Unplugged, which resulted in a hit album.
