Ross rifle

The Ross rifle was a rifle made in 1903 by Sir Charles Ross, was considered a fine target rifle but later, during World War 1, would become hated as it was found to perform poorly in bad weather and environment conditions. It frequently would lock-up and fail to fire rapidly. The endorsement of the rifle by Canada's Minister of Militia and Defense, Sam Hughes, lead to his downfall in popularity. The Canadian troops eventually replaced them with the British Lee-Enfield.
