S.E. Hinton

Susan Eloise Hinton (born ? in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is a United States author who wrote four young adult novels in the 1960s. Her best known books are The Outsiders and Rumble Fish, both adapted to film by Francis Ford Coppola which established the careers of many 1980s film stars such as Matt Dillon, Diane Lane, Emilio Estevez, and Mickey Rourke. These books deal with juvenile delinquent and other high school subcultures in the 1960s. She also wrote Tex and That Was Then, This Is Now which were also made into films.
