Saeed Mortazavi

Saeed Mortazavi (سعید مرتضوی in Persian) is currently (2003) the general prosecutor of Tehran in Iran.

Saeed Mortazavi used to be a judge for media court. He was the one who ordered closure of about 80 proreform newspapers who were supporting Mohammad Khatami in 1999.

In the year 2002, he was appointed as the general prosecutor of Tehran, Iran.

He is suspected by external observers like Ali Reza Nourizadeh to be behind the torturous death of Zahra Kazemi in July 11, 2003.
