Sandy Denny

Alexandra Elene McLean Denny (1947-1978) was a British vocalist who recorded several albums under the name "Sandy Denny." She was the lead vocalist for Fairport Convention for several years, and also sang with The Strawbs, Fotheringay and The Bunch. She died as a result of a domestic accident (falling downstairs). She is probably most remembered for her song "Who knows where the time Goes", which has been often covered by other artists.

Discography

She also appears on:
  • the "The Battle of Evermore" track on Led Zeppelin's Four Symbols, where she sings a duet with Robert Plant.
  • several live Fairport Convention albums
  • several Fairport Convention compilations. Notably, The History of Fairport Convention contains several recordings that were released as solo works or with bands other than Fairport Convention.
  • several compilations and re-releases of her original albums
