South Gloucestershire

South Gloucestershire is a local government area, created in 1996 when the county of Avon was abolished. It is north of the city of Bristol.

South Gloucestershire lies within the traditional and ceremonial counties of Gloucestershire.

South Gloucestershire covers an area of 497 km2 and is home to around 250,000 people.
