Speech balloon

A speech balloon or speech bubble is a generally round, solid balloon-like shape which sets off dialogue from the image in a comic strip or comic book. By default, the iChat instant messenging software application made by Apple Computer for the AOL Instant Messenger network uses speech balloons in text chat to attribute messages to their senders.
