Steve Yzerman

Steve Yzerman (born May 9, 1965) is a professional ice hockey player. He is the winner of 3 Stanley Cups, one Conn Smythe Trophy (1998), and has been captain of his team longer than any other player in National Hockey League history.

Yzerman was born in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada.

He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1983 and has remained there ever since. With over 600 goals, and having led his team to the Stanley Cup for the first time in 42 years, he is considered almost certain to be a hall-of-famer.
