Taha Yassin Ramadan

Taha Yassin Ramadan (born 1938) was the Vice President of Iraq from March 1991 to the fall of Saddam Hussein in April 2003. Originally a bank clerk, he later joined the military, and in 1956, the then illegal Ba'ath Party, where he first met Saddam Hussein. The two men's careers have been closely intertwined since, and in 1991, Saddam made him Vice President of Iraq.

He is the Ten of Diamonds in the most-wanted Iraqi playing cards.

On August 19, 2003 Taha Yassin Ramadan was captured in Mosul, by fighters of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and handed over to US forces.

Quotes

"We will use any means to kill our enemy in our land and we will follow the enemy into its land. This is just the beginning. You'll hear more pleasant news later."
