Tamar Bridge

The Tamar Bridge is a major road bridge in the south-west of England carrying traffic on the A38, spanning the River Tamar above the Hamoaze and connecting Devon and Cornwall. It was opened to traffic in 1961. It is co-owned by Plymouth City Council and Cornwall County Council, and is managed by the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry Joint Committee.

Alongside the new road bridge runs Isambard Kingdom Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge -considered to be one of his greatest railway achievements.
