Tapovan Maharaj
Swami Tapovan Maharaj of Uttarkashi is the master from whom Swami Chinmayananda acquired his knowledge on Vedanta.He authored two books on his travels through the Himalayas: "Himagiri Viharam" and "Kailasa Yatra." His autobiography, written in Sanskrit is titled "Ishvara Darshana". He died at the age of 68 in 1957.
